The impossibility of detaching the individual from the system creates a paradoxical simultaneity of control and freedom, of oppression and resistance, of power and powerlessness. Systematic human rights violations, which have become commonplace but are not accepted as normality, are thusly confronted by individuals who can no longer tolerate their institutionalization.

re:syst:em is a cinematic search for those moments of confrontation. A focus section that at six different locations, illuminates everyday institutions as apparatuses of political regimes - while focusing on the people who fights for change.
